The Harlow Gallery’s Education Committee hosts SECOND SUNDAYS, a monthly series of free community art-making events sponsored by our hometown bank, The Bank of Maine.
On July 12th from 2-4 pm, we will draw the “Wee Wonders of our Wild World.” Love the beauty of nature and the fun of drawing? This is the workshop for you! Melanie Lanctot, Readfield, participant in the Maine Master Naturalist Program and drawing enthusiast, will present photographic close-ups of her favorite subjects, some so tiny they are easy to overlook, but all marvelous in their unique beauty, intricacy, and place in the natural world. After a slide presentation there will be 30 minutes to draw some actual subjects. Pencils and paper will be provided or bring your own supplies. All ages welcome.
Mark your calendars and look forward to activities on the second Sunday of every month at the Harlow. These events bring artists and art lovers together to enjoy the process of making art as well as looking at art and discussing it. Most events are perfect for families, and all are welcome. Children under 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult. These sessions take place every 2nd Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the Harlow Gallery, and are free and open to the public. Some materials are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own as well. Let’s get creative!
Donations and sponsors to support gallery programs like Second Sundays are welcome.
