Art-a-thon + Mardi Gras = FUN

Saturday, February 21 is not only the day of our 2nd annual Art-a-thon, it is also Mardi Gras in Hallowell, including a parade at 5pm! For details, visit the Hallowell Mardi Gras Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/hallowellmardigras. Snow/rain date is Saturday 2/28/15.

Stop into the Harlow Gallery between 10am to 4pm on Saturday the 21st at 160 Water Street and watch artists at work as they create art to raise money in support of “Young at Art“, the gallery’s 12th annual student art show for grades K-8, on view at the Harlow February 28 – March 21, 2015.  To sponsor an artist, call Aleana Chaplin at the gallery at 622-3813.  Artists interested in participating can call Aleana or click here for details.

To add to the Mardi Gras festivities, the Harlow’s education committee is offering a hands-on free arts activity table at the gallery, suitable for all ages, and visitors can design and take home a button for any donation!

PLUS! Portland henna artist Mary Schmaling will be on site to decorate Mardi Gras revelers.  Her temporary henna body art starts at $10 for adults. Kids under 10 $5. Small henna designs cost $10-$20, medium $20-$30, large designs $30-$60.  Kids designs are just $5.  For more information about Schamling’s henna work visit her website: www.theeyeofhenna.com
