Harlow Gallery’s first Art-A-Thon to support “Young at Art” exhibitions at the Harlow Gallery and UMA’s Gannett gallery March – April 2014

Goal:  To raise at least $1,500 (total) in support of  Young at Art.  We’re inviting 15 artists to collect at least $100 each in sponsorships to support their art making marathon at the Harlow.

The Art-A-Thon will support two student art exhibitions: Young at Art 2014  is our 11th annual exhibition of children’s artwork, when area students in grades K -8 have their work on display in the professional setting of the Harlow Gallery  March 8-29, 2014 at the Harlow Gallery and … Higher Forms of Art – our 8th year celebrating area high school artists  March 14-April 5, 2014.  NEW! this year Higher Forms of Art is being presented in partnership with the University of Maine at Augusta at the Gannett Building gallery, 331 Water Street in Augusta.

Where:  The Harlow Gallery of course! 160 Water Street, Hallowell, Maine

When: Saturday, March 1st – during Mardi Gras in Hallowell – the public is welcome to come observe our marathon artists hard at work for a great cause!

Time:  10am – 6pm

Artists: Bring yourself and your art supplies (Harlow will have some supplies you can use if you like) and an easel if you choose, we’ll have tables and wall space available. Then – you make art all day!  Coffee and snacks will be provided. The work you make is yours to keep, although you are welcome to donate a piece made during the Art-a-thon, because each donor will be put into a drawing for original art.   March 1st is also Mardi Gras in Hallowell, the public will be welcome to come in and watch, so rest assured your efforts will be appreciated – take advantage of the day and take part in other Mardi Gras activities before or after you make some art!

Everyone else: Come check out the art-a-thon on Saturday March 1, 2014, 10am – 6pm.
