Linda Murray is a watermedia artist known primarily for her realistic tree and abstract images. She teaches art at Merrymeeting Adult Ed. in Topsham, Maine, Centre Street Gallery in Bath and her studio on the banks of the Kennebec River in Bath, Maine. She also paints murals and accepts commissions. Much of her work begins with a process called Decalcomania where pigment is applied to a wet surface and then plastic wrap is applied to create texture. The images are then developed further once the pigment has dried and the plastic wrap is removed. Much of her work evokes a sense of being underwater or of a celestial place. Her tree images focus on the roots of trees and their interface with the earth. She is represented by The Sharpe Gallery in Kennebunk, Maine and The Wishful Moon in Freeport, Maine.
