On Thursday, December 6 at 7pm Hallowell artist Robert Katz will present an ArtTalk documenting his recent travels thtrough China. The talk will provide compelling insight into the art, politics and history of this country.
Robert Katz is a sculptor and a Professor of Art at UMA. For the past thirty years, he has maintained a home and studio in Hallowell. In the summer of 2012, he was one of seven artists from North America invited to participate in a ” cross cultural exhibition ” at the Jiangsu Chinese Art Academy in Nanjing, China. Robert spent nearly three weeks traveling through this vast and ever changing country visiting historic sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Terracotta warriors.
