Call for Artists: Winter Members’ Showcase

Harlow Gallery artist members are invited to participate in the Winter Members’ Showcase which runs from January 17-March 3, 2018 at 100 Water Street in Hallowell. The cost to participate is $20 per linear foot, with a maximum of 10 feet. Proceeds will help underwrite the costs of moving and outfitting the Harlow Gallery’s new space. This opportunity is first come first served and space is limited. 


Eligibility and Criteria:
All participating artists must be members of the Harlow Gallery/Kennebec Valley Art Association. We welcome all two-dimensional and three-dimensional media including but not limited to: painting, drawing, printmaking, encaustic, fiberarts, pottery, glass work, woodworking, metal, and other mixed media.

Artist responsibilities:
Participating artists are responsible for installing their artwork in their assigned space (hanging supplies will be provided). Artists must also provide labels for each individual artwork with the following info: name, title, media, and price
. During this show patrons can take home art the same day it is purchased. Artists will be notified of any sales and may swap out, restock, and rearrange their work as needed. Harlow Gallery will keep a 20% commission on any sales for processing costs. A limited quantity of pedestals are available to artists displaying three-dimensional work. However, artists with three-dimensional work are welcome to bring their own displays.

Pay your space fee. $20 x quantity of linear Feet = space fee. Pay online via the paypal link below, in person, or mail a check made out to Harlow Gallery, 160 Water Street, Hallowell, ME 04345.
After registering, you will receive follow-up details about art installation.

Important Dates:
Deadline to Register: Wednesday, January 10 by 6pm  EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, JANUARY 12 BY 6PM.
Deadline to submit images for promotion: Saturday, January 6 by 6pm.
Installation: Saturday, January 13th, 12-6pm, or by appointment Jan 14-17
On view: January 17 – March 3, 2018, Thursday- Saturday, noon-6pm
Opening reception: Friday, January 26, 5-7pm (In tandem with the opening of SEVEN at 160 Water Street.)
Pick up unsold work and any displays: TBA

  • Bad weather predictions for Saturday, is hanging being rescheduled or can it be hung any evening the following week?
