ENTRIES DUE BY 11:59PM ON NOVEMBER 1, 2019
The Harlow is seeking submissions of high quality fine craft to be considered for Show of Hands, an upcoming exhibition on view December 6, 2019 – January 14, 2020.
ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA:
Artists may submit up to 10 pieces. Note: sets will not be considered as one submission – each separate piece will be counted toward the 10 piece limit. Submissions of handmade craft of any type are welcome including but not limited to: utilitarian, decorative, traditional, contemporary, and more. All works entered must be original work by the submitting artist. Artists should be residents of Maine at least part of the year or otherwise have a strong connection to our state. Please note that return shipping will be actual cost of postage plus $20 to cover staff time.
All fine craft media are eligible, including but not limited to sculpture, ceramics, textiles, fiberart, woodworking, metal, encaustic, printmaking, and glass. All work must be 100% original; no giclees, reproductions or mass produced elements. Show of Hands will be marketed as a holiday shopping destination so all pieces must be for sale.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
1. EMAIL | Enter by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with ”For Show of Hands from [artist’s name]” in the subject line.
2. IMAGES | Attach your JPEG images to the email. Each artist may submit up to 10 works of art. (You may submit more than one image pr work if you feel it will help the jurors understand the work. Please name your jpg image files using the following format before attaching them: “Artist’s Last Name_Title.jpg”)
3. ABOUT YOU + YOUR WORK | Include the following information in the body of your email:
Are you a member of The Harlow or the Kennebec Land Trust?
For each of your four entries list the following information:
Size (h x w, add depth if 3D):
Price (or value if not for sale):
(The Harlow takes a 35% commission for pieces sold on behalf of current members, or 50% commission for non-members. Please price your work accordingly.)
4. PAY ENTRY FEE
Pay the non-refundable entry fee of $30 for non-members and $15 for current members of The Harlow or the KLT. The fee is per artist (not per work of art entered) and entitles you to submit up to 10 works of art.

Friday, November 1 at 11:59pm: DEADLINE for digital entry and payment of exhibition fee.
Friday, November 8: Email notification of work juried into the exhibition will be sent on or before this date.
Friday, November 29, 12-6pm or Saturday, November 30, 12-6pm: Deliver artwork at The Harlow at 100 Water Street, Hallowell
Friday, December 6, 5-7pm: Opening reception (potluck! please bring a dish or beverage to share)
December 6, 2019 – January 14, 2020: Exhibition on view
