CALL FOR ARTISTS
Care for Your Child will be a juried art exhibition planned for two sites: the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell, and Round Top Center for the Arts in Damariscotta. Work submitted should present a positive image of caring for children. Approximately 14,000 children are abused or mistreated each year in the state of Maine. Artist Franciska Needham, exhibition coordinator, hopes that Care for Your Child will a provide positive vision for parents and caregivers, and raise public consciousness of the problem.
Artists interested in submitting their work considered for inclusion in Care for Your Child, are invited to call or email the Harlow Gallery for an entry form (207-622-3813 or firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no entry fee if your entry form is sent to us postmarked on or beforeSeptember 21, 2009 *extended deadline!*. You may still enter after this date, right up to and including the dates for delivering work (September 26 & 27) but a late entry fee of $20 will be charged. Each artist may submit one work of art.
Submitted work will need to be delivered to the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell on the following dates:
September 26, 2009 from 4 pm to 6pm
September 27, 2009 from 10am to 2pm
Judges are Nancy Wissemann-Widrig & John Wissemann. They will jury the show and award 12 prizes totalling $3,750.
Exhibitions will open:
at the Harlow Gallery on Friday, October 2nd from 5-8pm
at Round Top Center for the Arts on Sunday, October 4 from 1-4pm.
