The first Second Sunday event of 2017 is postcard-making, lead by Margo Ogden, on Sunday, January 8 from 2-4. Make a postcard for the Harlow’s fundraiser show “Posted”, on view January 25-28, 2017. Draw, paint, collage, write a poem or mix it all together. Join your friends and fellow artists and create an artful card for this fun mini exhibition! The gallery will have the cards and basic materials available but feel free to bring your favorite tools or media.

In light of Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day on April 30, 2017, join us on Sunday April 9 from 2-4pm to learn about the rudiments of pinhole photography with Johanna Moore. Build your own camera and jump-start your adventures in analog photography. All welcome.
“Who Says You’re Not a Poet?, lead by Bob McLaughlin, is on Sunday, October 9 from 2-4pm and is open to all ages and experience levels. “If you think you can’t write poetry, October’s Second Sunday is for you. Forget everything you think you don’t know, and just show up. Can’t spell? Forget it. Not so good with grammar? Forget it. Don’t know any poetic forms? Forget that, too. All you need is your big bag of experiences and unique way of seeing the world. The rest will take care of itself. You might even have fun.” – Bob McLaughlin
November’s Second Sunday event, The Artist’s Book – It’s a Foldable World! lead by Cynthia Ahlstrin, is on November 13 from 2-4 at The Harlow Gallery. Learn to make beautiful multiple page book forms without the use of glue. No book making experience is necessary. All ages welcome.
The Harlow Gallery’s last Second Sunday event of 2016, Snowflakes, lead by Cassie Bouton, is on December 11, 2-4pm. Join us for a peaceful, calming, family-friendly activity amidst a busy and sometimes stressful season. Learn how to make basic cut-outs or more ornate and advanced paper cutting techniques. All ages welcome.
August’s Second Sunday event, “Spacial Dynamics and Mandalas: Exploring Space in Movement and Art” takes place Sunday, August 14 from 2-4pm and is lead by Rose Swan and Jeremy Clough.
All are invited to participate in August’s Second Sunday event, “Paper + Scissors = Incredible Paper Cuts” which takes place Sunday, September 11, from 2-4pm and is lead by Leslie A. Miller. Paper cuts are made by young and old almost all over the world. During this 2 hour event participants will investigate many forms of this craft and try various tools and papers.
June’s Second Sunday event, Sacred Dance with expressive arts therapist Maryam Mermey will be held Sunday, June 12th from 2-4pm.
On Sunday, July 10, from 2-4pm, all are invited to create Clay Figures using paper clay with ceramic artist Malley Weber.
Weaving Off the Loom with textile artist Jayson Hunt, will be held on Sunday, April 10th from 2-4pm. The public is invited to explore weaving with Jayson and learn simple weaving structures. Play with color and texture as you craft a simple strap, belt or band.

Inner Vision, A Meditative Drawing with art educator Wendy Burton, will be held May 15th, 2-4pm. (Third Sunday to avoid Mother’s Day.) Leave logic behind in favor of your inner self. Starting with a simple mark you’ll begin your meditative journey through an intuitive non-objective drawing.
You are invited to “Take Your Dot For A Walk” with local art educator Helene Farrar. On Sunday, March 13 from 2-4PM we will learn about the Artist Paul Klee while we honor Youth Art Month. You and your child are invited to create some energetic paintings together in an inspiring and educational afternoon!
Paper Jewelry lead by visual artists Margo Ogden and Claudia Brahms, will take place on Valentines Day, Sunday, February 14th, 2-4PM. Make a little something for your Valentine.
