‘This Land is Your Land’ current black and white photographic exhibit continues to celebrate and commemorate the life and contributions of American folk legend with a free public concert for children (and adults) on November 11th at 2 pm at the Harlow Gallery.
The very talented Maine duo, Dave Peloquin and Bob Webb will be performing a wide selection of the songs Woody Guthrie wrote specifically for children. Dave and Bob have been performing together for 40 years and bring not only their master level of musical talent but also their deep admiration and love of Woody Guthrie’s music to the gallery.
Woody Guthrie may well be the most important folk songster of his century. In this the centennial year, Dave and Bob have been touring throughout New England with their own production ‘Woody’s A Hundred’. Engaging folks young , old and in between with guitar, banjo, harmonica and their warm exploration of the times and culture that Woody and America were experiencing, this concert promises to enlighten and brighten a Sunday afternoon. Many of the songs are interactive and encourage participation so be prepared to move and sing!
Free and open to the public, but donations to the gallery are most appreciated.
