In celebration of the MaineDOT road construction project taking place in Hallowell until October, Harlow artist members are invited to submit one piece of art responding to the theme of “Construction/Deconstruction” for the annual Summer Members’ Show and Sale. All media welcome, including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, fiberarts, photography, sculpture and fine craft. One work of art per member. We ask that artists please fill out the new online entry form BEFORE drop off day.
SIZE LIMIT: Member’s shows are very popular – we currently receive up to 100 works, which is quite a challenging number to hang. So even though we love large format art, members’ shows just aren’t the place for it. The size limitation as follows applies only to 2 dimensional work – sculpture just needs to fit through the door already assembled: No wall hung work may exceed 18″x24″ including the frame (or a total of 432 square inches for non-standard support sizes). Large work will be accepted, but if there is a space problem oversize work will be the first to be cut. In other words, if you choose to bring in over-sized work we cannot guarantee you a spot in the show.

Friday, June 29 or Saturday, June 30, 12-6pm: Deliver artwork at the Harlow at 100 Water Street in Hallowell, Maine.
Friday, July 6, 5-7pm: Opening reception (potluck! please bring a dish or beverage to share)
July 6-28, 2018: Exhibition on view in the upstairs gallery.
July 29, 12-4pm: Pickup unsold artwork.
BIN WORK (OPTIONAL): During members’ shows, current members may submit up to 2 pieces of original 2 dimensional work (no reproductions including giclee prints) . Work should be shrink wrapped or bagged, and no larger than 18 x 24. Pieces should be labeled on the back with the following information: artist’s name, title, media and price (remember to factor in the Harlow Gallery 35% members’ commission). Unsold work must be picked up at the same time as the work in the show.
IMAGES NEEDED: Are you an artist member planning to participate? We need images of your work to promote the show. Please send your jpeg file(s) no smaller than 1MB to firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Harlow is a membership based 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to connecting and celebrating art, artists and community in downtown historic Hallowell since 1963. Exhibitions are always free and open to the public. Hours are Wednesday-Saturday noon-6pm.
