The Kennebec Valley Art Association is proud to announce the 2011 exhibition schedule for the Harlow Gallery. Exhibitions are chosen from among proposals submitted by Maine artists; our volunteer exhibitions committee reviews submissions to arrive at the final schedule. Exhibition proposals are due twice yearly, on April 1 and October 1. Interested artists may contact the gallery at 207-622-3813 or email@example.com.
Serving on the committee this year are Larry Brown, KVAA board member; Deb Fahy, executive director; sculptor Ellen Gibson of Hallowell; Michael Hudak, committee chair and vice president of the KVAA; Marie Giguere, arts administration professional of Waterville; Johanna Moore of Artifacts in Farmingdale & Topsham; Jamie Ribisi-Braley of Sweetland Retreat in Manchester; and Robert Sherman, professor of architecture at the University of Maine at Augusta. The Harlow Gallery is owned and operated by the Kennebec Valley Art Association, a non-profit membership based art association promoting the arts in central Maine since 1958.

Spindleworks is a non profit art center for adults with disabilities and a program of the Independence Association of Brunswick Maine, whose mission is to help children and adults with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives in their chosen community. Artists in the Spindleworks program come from surrounding communities including Bath, Topsham, Bowdoinham, Portland, Westbrook, Auburn, Lisbon Falls, Richmond, and Freeport. Spring KVAA Members’ Art Show & Sale

Our 16th annual juried show draws artists from throughout central & coastal Maine. Prizes will be awarded at 6pm during the opening celebration on May 6th. Jurors this year are Margaret Libby and Véronique Plesch, both professors at Colby College in Waterville. Margaret Libby teaches figure drawing and painting, and fine art photography and is interested in visual equivalents of mother-daughter relationships. Véronique Plesch teaches art history; she specializes the history of European art and culture from 1300-1800, Christian iconography, medieval French literature and word and image studies.
