In 2010 we turned our restricted scholarship funds over the the Maine Community Foundation. The Tardiff/Fine Scholarship is currently active and goes to Cony student annually, but the funds dedicated to Hall-Dale have yet to be disbursed! This is because we are less than $700 shy of the $10,000 goal required before scholarships can be distributed.
We invite our friends from the Hall-Dale community to help by donating to the KVAA Memorial Fund.
1) Visit the Maine Community Foundation homepage, click the link to “Make a donation to the community foundation fund of your choice.” It’s on the left hand side of the page in a box with the “Give” heading.
2) From there, you can enter gift details. There is a dropdown menu listing the Maine Community Foundation’s most common funds, and at the bottom of the list there is an “Other” choice. Choose other, and type Kennebec Valley Art Association Memorial Fund into the field below.
3) Under “Donation Type” select “Donation for the Fund’s Distribution”.
4) Select your payment options and thank you for your support!
KVAA Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship in memory of past members of the Kennebec Valley Art Association in Hallowell will support a graduating senior at Hall-Dale High School pursuing post-secondary education in the visual arts or art education. We hope the first scholarship will be awarded in 2012, once the principle reaches $10,000. Watch the Maine Community Foundation’s Scholarship page for Kennebec County for details.
Set up initially in the 1960’s by the board of the Kennebec Valley Art Association in Hallowell, the KVAA Memorial Scholarship was created as a way of honoring deceased members of the art association and their loved ones.
