“Inspired by Katahdin” on view in Damariscotta

Inspired by Katahdin” is traveling to Damariscotta in December!

The exhibition will be on view at Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, located at 170 Main Street in Damariscotta from December 12,  2014 to April 30, 2015, with an opening reception/Christmas party on Friday, December 12, 4-6pm.  The show will be open to the public regular business hours: 9am – 5pm Monday through Friday.

Maine’s majestic Mount Katahdin is the muse for the 48 artists participating in “Inspired by Katahdin” juried by brothers David and Carl Little and presented by the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell, where it was originally  on view through month of November 2014. The artists in the show come from all across the state and offer a wide range of motifs and mediums in their work. The exhibition itself was inspired by the acclaimed book, “Art of Katahdin: The Mountain, the Range, the Region”,  written by artist and author David Little and edited by Carl Little. Published by Down East Books in 2013, the book follows an historic timeline using art inspired by the mountain, as well as Katahdin-related literature, photography, graphics, maps and more.
