Irish Tin Whistle Performance on Saint Patrick’s Day 2012

FREE concert performance of Irish Tin Whistle on St. Patrick’s Day from 6 to 7 pm.

Local musician and music teacher Adam Soosman will perform the concert. Also performing will be Hall-Dale Middle School student William Fahy. There is also the strong possibility of additional Tin Whistlers and musicians joining the duo for a select piece or two. The concert will feature traditional Irish music, to celebrate the holiday, but also some pieces from other European and American cultures and traditions. Refreshments in the theme of green will be available at a reception directly following the performance.

Adam Soosman has been performing music in Maine since 1989 and teaching music in Maine since 1996. He is the music teacher at Windsor Elementary School and a private music instructor for the Musician’s 1st Choice School of Music & Performance in Augusta. His musical specialties are in Woodwind & Brass instruments and Voice. He plays, regularly, with the popular function band, “JONES’N”, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary. He also performs with the Maine band “The Wedding Crashers” and the dynamic duo “Ampersand Orchestra”. Soosman is also currently teaching a course in Irish Tin Whistle through Gardiner Adult Education.
