Lunch with an Artist: Hazel Mitchell at the Harlow

We’ve teamed up with SpinOff Studio and Spindleworks to create an exciting series called Lunch with an Artist.

Please join us for lunch with Hazel Mitchell on Wednesday, March 28 from noon to 1 pm at the Harlow Gallery, located at 160 Water Street in Hallowell. You can bring your lunch or stop and pick up food at a local shop. This is a great opportunity to get inspired and get to know your local artists while on your lunch break. All members of the public are invited to bring their lunch and discover the work of great local artist.

Our second Lunch with an Artist just so happens to take place during Youth Art Month.  Young at Art our K-8 exhibition will be on view and we couldn’t think of a better month to introduce children’s book illustrator Hazel Mitchell. Hazel started drawing as a child and later went to college in York and Sunderland. Eventually Hazel ran away to the sea joined the Royal Navy where she honed her skills as graphic designer. Today Hazel lives in Maine where she writes and illustrates when not tending to her cats and horses.

Hazel’s Latest books include:
Hidden New Jersey (by Linda Barth) Charlesbridge Publishing
All Star Cheerleaders (by Anastasia Suen) Kane Miller
How to Talk to an Autistic Kid (by Daniel Stefanski) Free Spirit

SpinOff Studio and Harlow Gallery plan to make Lunch with an Artist a regular event on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
