Encaustic & Mixed Media Artist
The Maine landscape has had a major influence on my work as it is here in Maine that I began to paint my surroundings, to develop my language that enables me to interpret and communicate on paper and canvas what I see and feel as I daily look about me.
I began to paint as a way to recapture memorable scenes from travels in northern Maine, mostly canoe trips in the region of the Allagash and Saint John Rivers.
Metalsmith, Painter, Teacher… Drifter.
My paintings are bold and fearless in my need to interpret my environment.
I’ve been painting for about 60 years now and working in clay for 50.
