Art2013 will be on view May 10 – June 1, 2013. The show will open on Friday, May 10 from 5-8pm, with prizes announced at 6 pm. No substitutions will be accepted for the work selected by the jurors, and the work must be committed for the entire exhibition period.
Labeling Your Work – Artist’s full name, mailing address, and phone, plus the title of the work and price (or NFS) MUST be clearly printed on back of 2D works and bottom of 3D works.
Framing — All 2 dimensional entries, with the exception of oils and acrylics, must be framed with either glass or plexiglass. Unframed canvases are fine, as long as they are gallery wrapped (no staples visible). Frames and canvases must be wired and ready to hang (ie. with two eye screws and steel wire. Sawtooth hangers , “clip” frames or unstable frames will not be accepted.
Size Limits – 2 dimensional work may not exceed 6′ in either length or width, including frame. Sculptural work must fit through a standard doorway. Pedestals up to 15″ x 15″ are available, or the artist may supply your own. Please be aware that storage space is limited and artists submitting large scale work must commit to retrieve it on one of the pick up dates should the work not be included in the final exhibition. Maximum frame size is 72” x 72”. Three dimensional work cannot exceed 8’ in height or weigh more than 150 lbs.
Sales – The Harlow Gallery takes a low 30% commission on sales for members of the Kennebec Valley Art Association, and 40% for all others. Please price your work accordingly. You are welcome to join the KVAA when you submit your entry to take advantage of the lower member’s commission. Work does not have to be offered sale, in which case it will be marked “NFS” (not for sale).
