SECOND SUNDAYS: Wire Sculpture

Sunday, February 12, 2-4pm

Join Don and Eileen Kerr for a Second Sunday Wire Sculpture workshop on Sunday, February 12 from 2-4pm using simple tools and wire for ages 10 and up. At the completion of the session each participant may bring home a wire figure – which they will have made, and could be mounted on a base. Don and Eileen are practicing artists with many years of experience working with children and adults.  Explore some basic methods of working in this versatile material . You just might surprise yourself with new abilities! All experience levels welcome.

The wire provided is thin gauge plastic coated wire which is easily worked with fingers and only a few tools will be needed, also provided. If you have some beads and such things as electrical components to share, bring them along and discover how things can be incorporated into your pieces.

Mark your calendars and look forward to a variety of activities on the second Sunday of every month from 2-4PM at the Harlow Gallery. These events are free and open to the public. Some materials are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own as well. These workshops are opportunities to both try something new and sharpen old skills – they are open to everyone; form beginners to  professional artists and everyone in between. SECOND SUNDAYS brings artists and art lovers together to enjoy the process of making art as well as looking at art and discussing it. Most events are perfect for families, and all ages are welcome. Children under 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

The Harlow Gallery’s Education Committee organizes and hosts SECOND SUNDAYS, our monthly series of free community art-making events which is lead by volunteer presenters and is sponsored by our hometown bank, Camden National Bank.
