15th Annual Young at Art K-8 Exhibition

“Self Portrait” by Pearl, Kindergarten, Dresden Elementary School

March 7 – 24, 2018 | Opening Saturday, March 10, 11am-3:30pm

Harlow Art Center presents Young at Art, the 15th annual exhibition of children’s artwork and first annual Young at Art show to be held at their new location, 100 Water Street in Hallowell. Young at Art is on view March 7 – 24th, 2018 with a public reception on Saturday, March 10th from 11am to 3:30pm. During this exhibition students from kindergarten through 8th grade have their work on display in the professional setting of the Harlow Art Center.

Young at Art will coincide with PLAY, a juried group exhibition of artwork inspired by children’s artwork, which will be on view in the upstairs gallery March 7-24, 2018 with an opening reception on Friday, March 9, 5-7pm.

Each year the Harlow Art Center invites art teachers from elementary and middle schools from throughout the greater Augusta area to select their best student art to showcase in this community celebration of talented art students and of the importance of arts in education. 2018 marks the second year that the gallery is integrating homeschool student artwork in the Young at Art exhibit. Please join us in celebrating the youngest artists in our community – families with children especially encouraged to attend.

We are currently accepting artwork submissions from homeschool students. You may submit 1 piece of original student artwork per student. Work will be chosen through a jury process due to spacial concerns. NOTE: There is no limit to how many students can enter per household but each student may only enter one piece. The deadline is Monday, February 19 by 6pm. Click here for more information.

NOTE: Due to the high volume of visitors for the opening reception for Young at Art, the Gallery asks that participating artists and their families attend according to the following schedule. Families with more than one artist participating can choose to attend whichever time works best for them. Visitors not affiliated with a participating artist are welcome anytime between 11am – 3:30pm:

11am – 12:30pm: kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade
