We made our Kickstarter goal of $850!!!

Thanks so much for everyone who contributed to help support the financial costs of presenting Young at Art !!

Students who excel at sports are routinely recognized by the greater community; we want to celebrate students who excel in the arts! Young at Art is not supported by grant funding this year for the first time in five years. So we’re reaching out to the community via Kickstarter. If you believe, as we do, in arts enrichment for kids; in arts as an integral part of the community; and that the arts enhance the quality of life for people of all ages in central Maine; then we invite you to be a part of Young at Art!

Young at Art has been an annual celebration of March as “youth art month” at the Harlow Gallery since 2004. This year we’ll feature two exhibitions of artwork by students from central Maine, the first, Higher Forms of Art, will be on view March 2-12, 2011, showcasing work by high school students. Young at Art K-8 will be on view March 16-26.

Filmed and edited by a Maine 6th grader, our video ARTASTIC! stars two young Maine artists creating art at the Harlow Gallery.  ARTASTIC! was made to help promote Young at Art at the Harlow Gallery. Music by Nat Hussey of Matinicus Island, Maine is from his CD “Papa Goose” and is used with his permission. Visit Nat at www.nathussey.com.
