Young at Art: A Showcase of K-8 Graders’ Artwork

Young at Art: A Showcase of K-8 Graders’ Artwork

Please join us for Young at Art, our 9th annual exhibition of children’s artwork, when area students in grades K -8 have their work on display in the professional setting of the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell.  Each year the Kennebec Valley Art Association invites art teachers from elementary and middle schools from throughout the greater Augusta area to select their best student art to showcase in this wonderful celebration of young artists.

The opening reception for this exhibit will be held on Friday March, 16th from 4-7 pm at the Harlow Gallery, located at 160 Water Street in Hallowell.  The opening is free and open to the public, and will include refreshments.  Please join us in celebrating the youngest artists in our community — families with children especially encouraged to attend. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, March 31st, free and open to the public. Hours are Wednesday – Saturday noon to 6pm.

22 schools are participating this year! including:

Lincoln Elementary, Helen Thompson School, Hall-Dale Elementary, Palermo Consolidated School, Laura E. Richards School, Dresden Elementary, Marcia Buker Elementary, Stepping Stones Montessori, Pittston Consolidated School, Farrington Elementary, Readfield Elementary, Hussey Elementary, Chelsea Elementary, TC Hamlin Elementary, Riverview Community School, Windsor Elementary, Monmouth Middle School, Hall-Dale Middle School, Gardiner Regional Middle School, Richmond Middle School and Cony Middle School.
